Trangent.AI transport agent
How it works

One week of plans in. A checked, costed report out.

About an hour of your team's time, a signed NDA before anything moves, and the report within 3 working days of complete data.

The steps

From first call to deleted data

From a signed NDA to the walkthrough call in about five working days, three of them ours.

  1. Intro call, 20 minutesYour depot, your planning system, and what you would most like to know.
  2. NDA signed, secure folder sentA mutual NDA before any data moves, then a secure upload link and the data checklist. Never by plain email attachment.
  3. You upload one weekPlans and master data as your system already exports them: CSV, JSON, XML or Excel, in your own field names. About an hour.
  4. We check the data, within 1 working dayRows that don't make sense (30 pallets on a 26-pallet trailer, a store with no postcode) are listed back to you with the reason.
  5. We run the audit and write the reportEvery run costed, every rule checked, AI proposals checked and costed by Trangent. 3 working days from complete data.
  6. Walkthrough call, 30 minutesWe take you through the findings and answer questions. You decide what to change.
  7. Your data is deletedWithin 30 days of the call, confirmed in writing. We keep only the report you received, unless you ask us to delete that too.
What you send

What your system already exports

One depot, one week. No cost data? We use clearly labelled UK industry estimates and show which figures would change with yours.

WhatMinimumHelps if you have it
Daily plans, 5 to 7 daysJourney, trailer type, stop location, stop order, planned times, quantity (pallets or cages)Assigned trailer, driver shift, contractor, delivery windows
LocationsID, name, postcode or coordinates for the depot, stores and trunking depotsDelivery windows by weekday, which trailers each site accepts, unload times
FleetTrailer types with capacity and temperatures; number of own trailers per typeIndividual trailer IDs, contractor rates
CostsRough cost per km and per hour, daily cost per trailer typeContractor per-run rates, backhaul income

File formatsPlans and master data in CSV, JSON or XML, or Excel (.xlsx). We map your own column and field names to Trangent's, check every row, and keep the mapping for your next file.

What we check

The rules your plan has to keep

Each breach names the run, the stop and the reason. Each saving keeps every rule your plan kept.

  • WindowsDelivery windows. Arrivals before or after each store's window, by weekday.
  • AccessSite access. Trailers a site can't take, such as a double-decker at a store that can't receive one.
  • TemperatureTemperature and handling. Chilled or frozen goods on trailers that can't carry them.
  • CapacityCapacity. More pallets or weight than the trailer holds.
  • Drivers' hoursCore daily limits under the UK rules for HGV drivers: a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours of driving, 9 hours of driving and 13 hours of duty a day. Needs driver shift IDs in the plan. Flags risk; not a compliance ruling.
  • Your rulesYour own site rules. Store access sheets and delivery notes, turned into checks and reviewed before they're used.
What it is not

Advice, not autopilot. You decide what to change.

  • Not a replacement for your TMSOr your planners. Nothing connects to or changes your systems.
  • Not a live service, yetThe Health Check works on one recent week. Daily checking of every plan can follow if it proves useful.
  • Not a compliance auditDrivers' hours and safety findings flag risk for your team to check; they're not a ruling. Savings are estimates from your data and costs, and the report says where we estimated.
Questions

What transport managers ask us

Our TMS already optimises. Why would we need this?

Your TMS builds the plan; the Health Check checks the plans it produces, as they really run. Manual edits on the day, late orders and rules your TMS doesn't hold all add cost. If your plans are already tight, the report says so.

We can't share commercial data.

A mutual NDA is signed before anything moves. We need no driver names or personal data, and strip any we receive. Your data sits in its own workspace, is stored in the UK, and is deleted within 30 days, confirmed in writing. Store names can be codes; we only need postcodes or coordinates.

Our data is a mess, or our system exports something odd.

Send it as it comes out: CSV, JSON, XML or Excel, in your own field names. We map the columns, check the data within one working day and ask about anything unclear.

We don't know our cost per km.

We use clearly labelled UK industry estimates and show which figures would change with your own.

Savings on paper never survive the real world.

We only count a change that keeps every rule your plan kept. Tell us the site rules nobody writes down and we add them. Every assumption is listed, and you decide what to change.

Is AI planning our trucks?

No. AI reads the plan, proposes changes and explains findings in plain words. Trangent's fixed calculations check and cost every proposal, and only the ones that keep every rule reach the report. The same plan and data always give the same figures.

What does it cost after the pilot?

A fixed price per depot-week, agreed with you before any work starts and invoiced only when the report is delivered. If the report finds no savings or issues worth acting on, you pay nothing.

Can we use our own AI?

Yes. Trangent can use your company's own AI account and key, from Anthropic or any OpenAI-compatible service, including a model you host yourself. Your plan data then goes only to an AI service you already trust. We recommend models that have passed Trangent's test suite. AI is optional: the checks, costs and savings work without it.

One week isn't representative.

Pick a typical week. If the first week is useful, more weeks show the pattern.

We haven't got time.

About an hour to export a week of plans, a 20-minute intro call and a 30-minute walkthrough.
